Motivation can be hard for most individuals. You one day realize that you can’t fit into half of your wardrobe and 3 of the past 5 meals you had were full of sugar and came out of a package with an expiration date on it that made you wonder if Mother Nature still loved you. You start looking up workout programs and the best prices for an elliptical at your local sporting goods store. You see yourself in your new tennis shoes and workout clothes, ready to conquer the war on body fat and get that body of your dreams. You are doing it! The momentum is building up and you can see the better version of yourself just ahead of you. That is, until you say the one phrase that can derail that momentum train you were on: I’LL START ON MONDAY.
Dude. It’s currently Wednesday. Come on, son.
Why would you wait a five whole days to start your progress when you can start it at your very next meal? You know what’s going to happen in the next 5 days? Stress from work, pizza, bar trips, late night Chinese food, and ice cream. Come this time Monday you will have forgotten about your promise to yourself and will have pushed yourself even further down the path you were on. I know this is hard, I’m someone who had to get pushed to make changes now instead of later, but making these decisions now rather than later will be the one action you will remember and be thankful for.
I hope this helped you take the action you need to take in order to be a better you. I leave you with this anonymous quote that inspired this whole article:
